History Of Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga also is known as the rest, and the most prominent practice originated from the teaching of B.K.S Lyengar. The restorative yoga pose was modified experimented by B.K.S Lyengar of Pune, India. B.K.S Lyengar tried this way of restarting yoga on the people who were in pain from their injury. Thus to reduce and bring ease to them from pain, his restoration yoga was invented, and much of the poses bring deep relaxation and balance to mind and body. So, later on, it is popularised in the U.S as an “Active Relaxation.” 

Importance of The Restorative Yoga

It is generally to achieve and rest the state of mind and body through the use of simple but essential equipment (props) such as yoga mate, yoga socks, blocks, straps, wheels, blisters, etc. These props used extensively to support the body to hold possess for more extended periods to eliminate unnecessary mental and physical diseases. Restorative Yoga Poses

Restorative yoga usually includes five or six poses, but we can also see many other poses as well lately. Restorative poses include gently supported backbends, seated forward folds, gentle twist. Some different poses include a child’s pose; the corpse poses a happy baby pose, legs-up-the-wall pose, savasana with shins supported on a chair, and many more.
